A sightseeing tour on the hop-on hop-off bus is already part of the pass.

Sightseeing boat trips such as an archipelago or canal cruise are already part of the pass.

Digital pass

Contactless entry via your smartphone – no queueing at the ticket desk.

All-inclusive ticket

One pass for everything – no extra charges at the included attractions.

Flexible validity

Choose 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 days of validity from first use.
  1. Choose and buy your pass

Go City offers a single option in Stockholm – the Stockholm All-Inclusive Pass. On the Go City website you choose how many days and how many people you need a pass for. The price is shown in Swedish kronor (SEK), and you can pay with PayPal and most debit and credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard and American Express.

  2. Receive your pass (digital)

After purchase you receive the pass digitally as a QR code. You can load it into the Go City app or save it as a PDF on your smartphone, or print it out.

There is no physical voucher and nothing to collect on site – the digital pass is ready to use straight away. Tip – the Go City app also gives you handy details such as opening hours, maps and reservation notes for every attraction.

  3. Do not activate the pass straight away

Good to know – the pass only activates on your first attraction visit. Downloading or syncing it in the app does not trigger activation.

So you can buy the pass weeks in advance and store it in the app without the validity period starting. Unused passes are valid for up to 2 years from the date of purchase and can be started any time within that period.

  4. Plan your visit & reservations

Before you set off, it pays to do some rough planning. A few popular attractions or tours (for example certain boat trips) require a reservation in advance.

In the Go City app these are marked "Reservation required", along with instructions on how to book. Most sights, however, you can visit on the spur of the moment, with no need to book ahead.

  5. Activate and use your pass

Once everything is ready, it is time to explore. Your pass is activated the first time you visit an included attraction. You simply show the QR code at the entrance – either on your smartphone or printed out – and you are let in.

From that moment the validity period of your pass starts to run. Important – validity is counted in consecutive calendar days, not in 24-hour periods. So if you have, say, a 3-day pass and use it for the first time at 3pm on a Tuesday, Tuesday counts as day 1 and the pass expires at 23:59 on the Thursday.

Frequently asked questions about the Stockholm Pass

Here you will find answers to the most common questions about the Stockholm Pass, which gives you free entry to more than 70 attractions in Stockholm.

How do I activate the Stockholm Pass?+

Activation happens automatically on your first attraction visit. All you need to do is have your digital pass (QR code) scanned at the entrance of the first included sight. From that scan the pass counts as "activated" and the validity period begins.

So feel free to buy or download the pass in advance – it stays inactive until you first use it on site.

Are the days on the Stockholm Pass consecutive?+

Yes. If you have a multi-day pass, the days must be used consecutively. After the first activation on day X, that day and the calendar days immediately following it count as your usage period. You cannot pause or split the validity.

Example – activation on Wednesday (day 1) means Thursday (day 2) and Friday (day 3) are automatically the remaining valid days of a 3-day pass, whether or not you visit anything on those days. That is why you should choose your start time wisely and ideally begin in the morning to make the most of each day.

What counts as a "day" – 24 hours or a calendar day?+

What counts are calendar days up to midnight. Each day of the pass ends at 23:59, regardless of the time you start on that day. If you only begin in the afternoon, for example, you lose the unused morning hours.

For this reason Go City recommends starting your sightseeing early in the day so you get full value from each pass day.

Is the pass transferable or usable by several people?+

No. Each pass is personal and may only be used by one person. You cannot share the QR code with friends like a Netflix password – everyone needs their own pass.

While no ID is checked when scanning at attractions, using the same code at different places at the same time would be detected and is not permitted.

Do I need a physical ticket, or can I use the pass digitally?+

The Stockholm Pass is a digital pass. You can either show it in the Go City app on your smartphone or save the QR code from the confirmation email as a PDF on your phone, or print it out.

The email confirmation alone is not enough for entry – the QR code has to be shown and scanned. There is no voucher to exchange and nothing to collect; the digital code is your ticket to all the attractions.

Do I need reservations or timed-entry tickets for attractions?+

Usually not. You can visit most of the sights included in the pass spontaneously. There are, however, a few exceptions – mainly popular tours and activities with limited capacity (for example certain boat trips or guided tours).

Such attractions are flagged with a note in the app and the digital guide. In these cases the app also tells you how to reserve (often via an online form, or by email/phone with the provider). Remember that your pass days must be valid on the date of the reservation – so only book activities for dates when your pass is still active.

For most museums and regular sights no booking is needed; you can simply turn up with your pass.

Is public transport included in the pass?+

No. The Stockholm Pass does not cover travel on the metro, buses, trams or public ferries. The pass focuses on entry and tourist tours. That said, as mentioned, sightseeing buses and some boat tours are part of the offer, which is genuinely handy for exploring the city.

If you plan to use public transport a lot, you will need to buy a separate ticket or an SL travelcard for that. These are available, for example, for 24 or 72 hours of unlimited travel and work well alongside the Stockholm Pass.

Is there a Stockholm Pass for children?+

Yes, Go City offers discounted children's passes. A child pass is valid for children aged 6 to 15. Children under 6 usually do not need their own pass, as many Stockholm attractions are free for young children – they enter free when accompanied by a paying adult. From age 16, the adult price applies.

When booking, you can select the relevant number of adult and child passes. Note that children with their own pass may also only visit most attractions when accompanied by an adult (so you cannot send a 10-year-old off with a pass on their own).

What happens if I buy the pass but my plans change?+

Go City has a customer-friendly cancellation policy. You can fully cancel unactivated Stockholm passes up to 30 days after purchase and get your money back. So if you buy the pass in advance and then change your mind or postpone the trip, that is no problem – as long as you arrange the return within 30 days (online via customer service).

Once activated, no refund is possible, as the pass then counts as used. And by the way – if an attraction you wanted is removed from the programme after you bought the pass, you can also exercise your right of return. As a rule, though, the main highlights always remain part of the offer.

How long is a purchased pass valid if I do not use it straight away?+

Every Stockholm Pass you buy stays valid for up to 2 years from the date of purchase, as long as it has not been activated. So you can buy the pass well in advance (for example to benefit from discounts) and then use it whenever you like.

The clock only starts on first use. After 24 months, an unused pass expires automatically. Once activated, it is then valid only for the booked duration (number of days or attractions).

Most travellers will of course use their pass straight away on their next trip – but it is good to know there is no time pressure.

Can I visit the same attraction more than once with the pass?+

No. Each attraction included in the pass can only be visited once per pass. The first scan there grants entry via the pass; a second scan at the same place would be rejected by the system. This rule applies to all All-Inclusive and Explorer passes.

Since there are over 50 different activities to choose from, however, you will usually find plenty of alternatives rather than doing something twice. If you liked an attraction so much that you want to visit again, you would need to buy a separate ticket for it.
